More than 1200 km. of Greenland – starting in South Greenland, ending in Ilulissat (World Heritage, Icefiord), Mid Greenland. 4 days sailing, where we will visit min. 1 town per day and experience Greenland – together with the locals. This is the best way to see as much Greenland as possible and meet locals at the same time. A Cultural way of seeing this beautiful Country.

Itinerary:

Day 1, Tuesday: Reykjavik – Narsarsuaq 13.45-14.45 - sail to Igaliku
From Reykjavik to Narsarsuaq with Air Iceland. After 3 hours you will land in Greenland. You will see green mountains, small icebergs and very clean/fresh air.

In Narsarsuaq Blue Ice Explorer will take you to Qooroq Icefiord in the Turkish blue water. Further on from the Icefiord to Igaliku:
Greenland has towns and villages. No roads between the places. Some of the villages are very small - only 30 inhabitants. Igaliku is one of the most beautiful villages in Greenland. Loads of history, farming and people from nearby "big" cities build their summerhouses in Igaliku. The area is very fertile, situated in the buttom of a long very blue fiord - and all surrounded with big mountains. Inhabitant are about 50 people and they are almost all sheep farmers.

Day 2, Wednesday: Igaliku – Qaqortoq
Waking up - listening to the calmness. Eating your breakfast surrounded by these beautiful mountains. This is a great beginning on an exciting journey in Greenland.
About midday you will be picked up and sail to Qaqortoq - a very picturesque place:
Qaqortoq is South Greenland's educational center, with a business school, a high school and other institutions. The city was founded in 1774 by Anders Olsen on behalf of the Royal Greenland Trading Company (KGH). Our city tour starts among the old houses of the colonial quarter and then takes us to the fish and meat market, where we hear about the conditions faced by today's fishermen and hunters, Greenlandic culinary traditions, etc. We then proceed to the old church from 1832 – "Annaasisitta Oqaluffia" (The Church of Our Savior) – and hear about the history of Christianity in Greenland. Afterwards, we visit the city's administrative buildings and your guide tells you something about the island's political system. Throughout our tour, there will be a number of opportunities to see the famous "Stone & Man" exhibition, a project that was initiated by local painter and sculptor Aka Høegh, who worked with visiting Nordic artists to create over 30 exterior stone sculptures.
